Bukit Aman Federal Commercial Crimes police officers are investigating a bank employee for allegedly embezzling RM5 million in Kajang. The female officer had been working at a bank branch there for over a year.

The employee’s supervisors had found discrepancies in the bank’s accounts and an audit revealed that millions of ringgit were missing.

It was then determined that the employee had been making multiple withdrawals over a period of a few months and brought bags of cash home. It is believed that the woman had been spending on a house and a car worth RM600,000 and had recently married a foreigner.

The bank’s officials declined to comment, adding that the case is being investigated by the police.
