Shearwey Murder Case: Mother Bound Over for False Police Report
29 November 2008
George Town
The 29-year-old mother of missing child Shearwey Ooi Ying Ying has been bound over for lodging a false missing person’s report at the Balik Pulau magistrate court office yesterday.
While there, former sales executive Jess Teh Hooi Wen’s mother, Ong Sea Wah, was signing the court bond. It was believed then that Teh had lost her temper and hit Bernama TV cameraman Ameer Khamsa Omar Khan with an umbrella before leaving the court. Teh’s lawyer, V. Parthipan apologised to Ameer on behalf of Teh. Ameer accepted the apology and would not be lodging a police report against her.
Teh pleaded guilty on 16 October 2008 for lodging the false missing person’s report on Shearwey to Lance Corporal Khai-run Nisah Abd Shani at the Bayan Lepas police station on 6 July 2007 at 10:30am. Magistrate Norhayati Johar ordered her to be bound over for RM1,000 over a period of three years.
