Three Drug Trafficking Syndicates Nabbed

Three drug trafficking syndicates distributing syabu, heroin, and ketamine for the local market have been busted by police in raids across several areas here. Several suspects, including a Singaporean, were arrested and RM33,500 worth of drugs were seized.
On 13 March 2008 at 4:30pm, a police team raided a house in Taman Sentosa and arrested a 52-year-old Singapore and seized 98g of heroin.
Officers from the state narcotics unit then raided a house in Kampung Kangkar Tebrau on Monday at 11:15am and seized 71g of heroin. A 31-year-old man was arrested there.
In Taman Mount Austin at 12:30pm, the same team then raided a a drug-distributing centre and arrested two men and a woman aged between 36 and 39 years. They seized 65g of heroin, 80g of syabu, 80g of ketamine and 16 Ecstasy pills there.
Finally, police arrested seven more men and seized 6g of syabu and 15.6g of heroin in Taman Seri Mersing. It is believed that this last group of suspects were not part of any syndicate.
Police said the suspects arrested were being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 152 for trafficking.
