Uncle of Three Brothers Suspected of UTAR Student Murder Caught

The uncle of the three brothers who were arrested in relation to the rape and murder of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman student Tang Lai Meng has been remanded by the police in an apartment in Bukit Jalil at 3pm on Saturday. The man is the prime suspect in this case and has been remanded for six days.

The man led police to the Toyota Vios which belonged to the victim. It was parked in Taman Angsana, Cheras, near to Bandar Mahkota Cheras where she was found strangled to death. Police seized a laptop computer and mobile phone belonging to the victim from the man.

It is believed that the man had been convicted of a drug offence and had been placed under restricted residence in Temerloh, Pahang. He escaped and stayed with his three nephews.

Earlier on Thursday, the three brothers, aged 15, 18 and 30, were arrested in their home in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.
