Eight Arrested for Metro Tabernacle Church Arson Attack

Federal Criminal Investigations Department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin said police have arrested eight men on suspicion that they are related to the arson attack on the Metro Tabernacle Church. The suspects are aged between 21 and 26 years and included two brothers and their uncle.
A 25-year-old man went for burns treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on Tuesday at 3pm. Police questioned the man and arrested him there. This lead to the arrest of the other seven including one who also had burn injuries on his hand.
The suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist investigations and their case is classified under Section 436 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum of 20 years jail upon conviction.
