Two containers of “king rockets” and firecrackers worth RM274,600 were seized by the Teluk Intan Customs authorities at the Klang Container Terminal’s Free Trade Zone in North Port on Monday afternoon. The unpaid duties of the items are estimated to be RM178.490.

Customs believe that a national syndicate is involved in the smuggling of such firecrackers every Chinese New Year. The items in this incident were shipped as microphones via a fake company name.
