Ipoh
A father found the half-naked body of his daughter at her hair salon in Taman Perpaduan, Tambun, after she had failed to answer his repeated phone calls yesterday. 57-year-old Ooi Ah Hee went to 22-year-old Ooi Choo Lee’s salon at 4am and found her lying in the toilet.
She is believed to have been strangled and raped before she died. Ah Hee, an oil palm plantation worker, said that his daughter’s Proton Wira was missing when he arrived. However, police found the car nearby at 11pm on Saturday. Her purse, identity card and mobile phone are still missing.
Choo Lee’s body has been brought back to her hometown Yan, Kedah. Her body was cremated at the Sungai Petani crematorium near Taman Sejati.
Choo Lee opened the hairdressing salon in Ipoh two years ago in search of good business.
Meanwhile, police said that there was no sign of a break-in at the shop.
