Kuala Besut
Zulkifli Salim, aged 49, and his 29-year-old wife were having a quarrel at home in Kampung Keluang on Monday 4am about Zulkifli having an affair with a woman. He then spashed a bottle containing a mixture of hydrochloric and sulphuric acids over his wife’s head and cheek.
Zulkifli, feeling remorseful after seeing her wife being scarred, allegedly drank the remaining acid and collapsed.
Neighbours brought the couple to the Besut Hospital where they were admitted in the intensive care unit. Zulkifli was transferred to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu and the wife to Hospital Universiti in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
Zulkifli died at 4am yesterday and his case has been classified as suicide and causing hurt.
