Nor Maliza Abdul Rahman, aged 28 , and Rasdi Abdul Rasid, aged 26, were charged in court yesterday with murdering the former’s 3-year-old daughter last month. The victim, Siti Nadia Mohamad, was murdered by the guest relations officer and her unemployed boyfriend in their rented room along Jalan Datuk Wong Ah Jang between 7am on 21 June 2007 and 4:30am on 22 June 2007.

Nor Maliza sent her unconscious daughter to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital on 22 June, claiming that the victim had injured herself from a fall. Siti had sustained head injuries and bruises on her body and was transferred to Kuala Lumpur Hospital. She died on 27 June 2007.

Nor Maliza was arrested on 1 July on suspicion that there was child abuse, and her boyfriend remanded three days later.
