37-year-old lorry driver Jamal Ahmad and his 33-year-old assistant Mazlan Baharum were at the Air Keroh, Malacca rest area when their lorry, carrying RM1 million worth of copper, rubber gloves and latex, were hijacked by six men armed with parangs and knives.

At 2am Tuesday, the suspects assaulted the two, broke the driver’s side window, blindfolded and tied the two while they drove the lorry for eight hours. Two of the robbers sat on the victims as they lie on their backs in the rear seats. Two hours later, they were transferred into a car. The car was driven for five hours before the victims were thrown out in Kuang near Sungai Buloh.

The robbers also took the victims’ wallets with RM6,500. When the two had freed themselves, they lodge a report at the Sungai Palong police station.

The lorry was found eleven hours later near a factory in Shah Alam. The copper cargo was missing.
