Robbery Gang Used Women to Entice Victims

A robbery gang which uses young women to target male victims have been apprehended by the police. The syndicate would use women to lure male victims into deserted areas such as back lanes of shops before robbing them of their valuables at knife point.
Following a police report made on 1 April 2008 where a man followed a woman in Skudai and was robbed by three men, police arrested a man and two women in Bukit Chagar three days later. Another syndicate member was arrested in Kota Tinggi and 31 mobile phones from a telecommunications outlet along Jalan Trus were seized. The phones were believed to have been loot supplied by the suspects.
The suspects will be charged under Section 394 of the Penal Code for robbery.
