Altantuya Murder Trial: Razak Acquital To Be Reviewed

The father of murder victim and Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu has asked his lawyer Karpal Singh to apply for a review of the acquittal of Abdul Razak Baginda. Razak was acquited on 10 November 2008 by High Court Justice Zaki Yasin without calling for his defence.
The political analyst was charged with abetting to the murder of Altantuya.
On 14 November 2008, the lead prosecutor said that the Attorney-General’s Chambers would not be appealing the decision to acquit Razak.
Karpal Singh noted that they have 40 days from 14 November 2008 to file for the application of a mandamus order to make the prosecutor appeal.
