Kuala Lumpur
A Chinese tourist was found dead with slash wounds on her chest and neck in a hotel room along Jalan Pudu yesterday at 6am.
The victim, 39-year-old Wong Yue Wah, was on vacation in Malaysia since 20 September 2007. Moments before she died, she had called the front desk of the hotel for help.
A hotel staff went to the third floor room and found the woman on a pool of blood on the bed. Then, he saw a man, believed to be a Myanmar national, escaping from the room window. The suspect was holding a bloodstained knife and warned him not to get involved.
The staff alerted his superior, who called the police. Police have ruled out robbery as the motive of the murder as the victim’s valuables were not missing.
