A gunman and major drug trafficker was shot dead yesterday at 1:15am when he was flagged down by a police patrol car in Taman Ehsan. He is believed to be the main suspect in an ambush on a police party in October 2007.

36-year-old Soh Kee Seng was spotted in a Proton Perdana vehicle and a car chase ensued, ending in the Taman Ehsan Industrial Park. The suspect tried to shoot his way out, but was shot dead. Police seized a gun, four bullets and a packet of heroin in the suspect’s car.

On 25 October 2007, four policemen were bringing a suspect to a double-storey house along Jalan TS2, Taman Sri Suria, Sungai Buloh, as the residence was used as a packing and distribution centre for a drug syndicate. Lance corporals Jaya Balan Krishnan and Alagesan Malapan were killed and chief inspectors Helmi Zakaria and R. Rajakumar were critically injured when gunmen ambushed them.
