Kluang
Sinnathurai Subramaniam, aged 24, and his wife, Kristina Moses, aged 18, were brought to court yesterday to face charges of murdering Khosa Devi Batu Malai, aged 36, and Keerthisha Sri Suega Param, aged 3, at an oil palm plantation on 2 November 2007.
The victims’ bodies were found burnt in a Proton Iswara Aeroback along Jalan Kebun Sayur, Batu 6, Jalan Mersing. The woman was in the boot while the girl was at the rear passenger seat.
The charges were read to the couple in a court heavily secured by the police who allowed only the relatives of the parties and the media to attend.

Muar
11-year-old Lim Kae Yin and her 42-year-old mother Aree Sea Lim were on a motorcycle heading for her SK Chung Hwa Tiga school when a man on another motorcycle stopped them on Friday at 7:15am.
They stopped and Aree told Lim to run away but the man chased the girl and hit the back of her head with a hammer. He had turned back intending to attack Aree but left the scene when some car drivers were alerted.
The girl fell on the road and was rushed to the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital. She was unconscious and had suffered a cracked skull.
Police are seeking information on the assailant.

Kuala Lumpur
A 35-year-old woman was found lying dead in a toilet cubicle on the fourth floor of Plaza Warisan along Jalan Tun H.S. Lee yesterday at 11:30am. The victim, named Norleha Mohamad, had a stab wound on her back and was wearing a green sweater, yellow blouse, dark jeans and high heels.
Police believe that she could have been robbed before she was murdered as her purse and mobile phone were missing.
It is learnt that the victim had lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police station on 8 October 2007 about her identification card missing.
