A 46-year-old taxi driver has claimed trial to the charges of using criminal force on with his 13-year-old daughter with the intention of outraging her modesty. He attempted to commit incest at his house on 16 March 2007 at 1:30am.

The judge granted bail at RM7,000 for the charges with one surety.

Lawyers of Karpal Singh & Co has filed an appeal against the dismissal by the High Court judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin of an application to disqualify one defendant’s lawyer.

Altantuya’s father, Shaariibuu Setev had applied to disqualify Hazman Admad from serving Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri in the murder case because the lawyer’s late wife was the judge’s niece.

Judge Mohd Zaki had dismissed the application on June 4 2007.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in his house in Kampung Tempurung, Chukai on Tuesday at about 1pm. It is believed that the girl followed him to his house after meeting him at a mall nearby.

The man also tested positive for drugs.
