Three Women Drug Peddlers Arrested

Police have arrested a gang of three female drug peddlers, one of whom was an ex-convict. The Anti-Narcotics Unit team arrested the women aged between 19 and 28 during separate raids on 28 February 2007.

One was caught at a shopping area while the other two were arrested in their homes. Crystalline substances believed to be syabu were found on all of them. RM370 was also found on them, believed to be collected from selling of drugs to addicts in the area.

Rare Wine and Antique Clock Stolen by Security Guard

Penang

A 34-year-old security guard was arrested for stealing 275 bottles of wine worth RM600,000 and a RM200,000 antique clock from his employer’s Penang Hill bungalow. The millionaire business man had lodged a police report when he suspected that his wine and clock had been missing for some time.

Police arrested the guard at his house along Jalan Kampung Pisang, Air Itam, at 8pm on the day the police report was made. It was learnt that the guard had sold the wine to another businessman who lives near the victim’s place. The bottles were recovered from the second businessman’s house and a statement taken from him.

The clock and several antique dolls were recovered following the arrest of a shop owner in inner George Town yesterday afternoon.

The guard will be charged with theft and the two buyers charged with dishonestly receiving stolen property.

Drug Processing Lab in Apartment Raided

George Town

Police raided the luxury apartment along Jalan Burma near Midlands shopping complex and found that the 35-year-old man who was there had been operating a drug processing lab there. During the raid at about 12:30pm on Thursday, police found 180 ecstasy pills, 45 eramin pills, heroin and syabu in the apartment.

They also seized two weighing machines, a steel bowl and 90 bullets.
