Slim River
A 51-year-old police chief inspector who was the head of the narcotics district division in Tanjung Malim and an unidentified woman were found dead in a car at the Behrang rest stop along the North-South Expressway yesterday at 2:30pm.
The bodies of Mohd Fauzi Ibrahim and the 24-year-old woman, believed to be a guest relations officer, were found in a BMW with the air-conditioning still running. There were black marks on the woman’s nose and red marks on the face, hands and feet of both.
The bodies were sent to the Slim River Hospital for post-mortem and it has been confirmed that the cause of death was from inhaling carbon monoxide.
Fauzi had borrowed the car from a friend and he was on duty the night before.
Police did not find any injuries on their bodies and the case has been classified as sudden death.

KTM Komuter conducted a two-hour operation using 20 KTM auxiliary police and 14 Rela members to search its passengers for illegal immigrants yesterday morning. 38 men and 5 women from Indonesia, Nepal, India, Africa, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Pakistan were caught in two trains and will be handed over to the Immigration Department.
The first operation in its 12-year history, KTM decided for the operation due to daily complaints of pickpockets on the trains and on the platforms. The pickpockets are most frequent during the peak hours of the day. Track equipment are also stolen by drug addicts and illegal foreigners.
KTM intends to install closed-circuit television cameras in its stations.

Three men who have been responsible for at least 10 robbery cases here, had stopped two youths on a motorcycle near Danga Bay at 3am yesterday. One of them was wearing a police raincoat. The youths were punched in the face and their mobile phones snatched.
One of the men took the motorcycle while the other two drove off in a Proton Perdana. Three hours later, the motorcycle crashed into the Proton Perdana near the Johor Islamic Complex. Police in a patrol car spotted them and arrested one of them, a 29-year-old man from Taman Ungju Tun Aminah.
Police have identified the other two who escaped on foot. The car was reported stolen on 22 February 2007 in Gelang Patah and police found a knife, a baton and a police raincoat inside.
