Police arrested 20 people, including 13 foreigners, and busted two international drug syndicates which were involved in processing and distributing syabu. In total, police hauled 36.3kg of syabu from the syndicates, which had been active in Perak, Penang and the Klang Valley for the past one year.
Last Saturday, police arrested three Hong Kong nationals and a Chinese national in Taiping, Perak, who led them to a house in Taman OUG. Acting as a storage site for drugs and chemicals, police discovered 14kg of liquid suspected to be syabu.
In the Klang Valley, investigations revealed that the syndicates had been actively distributing syabu in Kota Damansara, Taman Desa Baiduri and Taman OUG.
Authorities believe that these two syndicates had links to another syndicate which involved foreigners from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Japan and was busted in January.

An elderly man, commonly known in his neighbourhood as “Uncle Amoi”, had allegedly raped his 14-year-old mentally-disabled neighbour for the past four months. It is believed that the 63-year-old man had been going to the victim’s Pekan Nenas house whenever her father was out for work.
The suspect had given the victim a pill to eat and injected her with an unidentified substance before raping her.
The victim then revealed the incident to her Special Education teacher who brought her to the Pekan Nenas police station to lodge a report on Sunday.
Medical examination on the victim at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Baru, confirmed that she was raped. The man has been arrested from his home on Tuesday morning.

Hanni Seo, a foreign maid who allegedly attacked her employer last week, has been charged with attempted murder. The 23-year-old woman from Kupang, Indonesia, reportedly attacked 42-year-old Phang Kian Huang with a wooden stool, pestle and kitchen knife at an apartment at Rifle Range in Air Itam on 26 February 2009 at 10am.
Phang was asleep at the time of the attack, which she sustained broken ribs and a nearly-severed ear.
On Thursday in Sessions Court, Hanni’s charge was read to her several times before she understood and pleaded not guilty. As Hanni had no lawyer, judge Roslan Hamid ordered the prosecution to write to the Indonesian consulate to engage a lawyer for her.
The judge then fixed the case for mention on 2 April 2009 but denied Hanni bail because she is a foreigner.
