Police have intensified their search for missing 11-year-old Muhammad Asmawi Jalaludin with the distribution of 2,000 posters to police stations in the Klang Valley and conducting a house-to-house search around Lembah Pantai.

Asmawi has been missing since 9 March 2008 when he was returning home in Pantai Permai, Pantai Dalam, from a playground 200m away.

His elder sister Saudah, aged 30, was brought to Mid Valley Megamall by the police to view closed-circuit television camera footage yesterday. Three of Asmawi’s friends claimed to have last seen him at the mall on Wednesday. The trio were brought to the Federal Police Sexual Abuse and Child Investigation Division (D11) in Bukit Aman to be interviewed. None of them were able to identify Asmawi in the footage.
