Penang
The State Narcotics Department has arrested five people and seized 2.25kg of heroin, effectively disrupting a major drug supply.
Three of them, including the drug syndicate leader, were arrested in Jalan Udini on Friday at 1:30pm. The other two were picked up later.
Authorities believe that the Grade 3 heroin was meant for distribution in the Klang Valley and Selangor and was only part of a large amount produced in a laboratory. RM100,000 cash and a car were also seized.
The case has been classified under drug trafficking under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the death sentence.
