Two young men were attacked by five armed men outside of the Bandar Penampang Baru supermarket in Penampang yesterday evening. Both fled from the attackers, but one sustained five stabs on his back and the other died from seven stabs and one in the right eye.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Izad Gold, aged 42, was a security guard for a warehouse in Balakong. Yesterday morning, he found four men trying to break into the warehouse by cutting the fence. When Izad fought with the robbers, one of them hit him on the head with a hard object, killing him.

The robbers escaped with the warehouse owner’s vehicle using keys found on Izad.

Police believe that Izad died from serious head injuries.

A security guard who stole more than RM300,000 from several banks on Friday apparently joined the Butterworth-based security company using another person’s driving license.

The guard, known by others as “Abang Mat” and two other guards went to a bank in Lebuh Downing at about 10:45am. Abang Mat waited in the van while the two went into the bank. 15 minutes later, the two guards found the van and Abang Mat missing. The van was later found in Taman Selat, Butterworth, empty.
