Police have detained seven people, aged between 19 and 22, who are related to two murder cases in Johor Baru. They were picked up from a residential property in Taman Pelangi Indah yesterday night.

Police also found 16gm of syabu and 130gm of Ketamine, believed to be sold or distributed to drug pushers.

One of the suspects is also involved in a case of 20 people who attacked a man in Ulu Tiran last November, who died en route to the hospital.

Ipoh

The registered owner of the car that was used by a suspected drug dealer in Ipoh Garden has been found. The suspect had tried to escape by running into several policemen and their cars last Saturday. The car is believed to be owned by a woman in Johor.

Perak Narcotics will require the woman to be brought in for questioning.

A businessman who volunteered to work in a relief centre as a Rela member has been suspected of molesting an 18-year-old student while escorting her to Hospital Sultan Ismail. The woman is a flood victim from Kampung Oren in Ulu Tiram.

On January 13 2007 morning, she had complained of breathing difficulty and was driven by car to the hospital. En route, the suspect kissed the woman on her cheek and groped her. He allegedly drove the car to a secluded place and offered to have sex with her. When she refused, he warned her not to tell anyone.

The woman lodged a police report and the suspect was arrested by the police the next day.
