Nine Arrested for Drugs and Weapons

Police raided two houses, seized drugs worth RM195,000, and arrested five Singaporeans and four Malaysians.

Narcotics officers raided a Taman Pasir Pelangi house where three Singaporeans, aged between 27 and 39 years, were arrested on 25 January 2007. Heroin and Ecstasy pills were found there. Two of the suspects had robbery and drug trafficking offences in Singapore.

The other case involved two Singaporeans, aged 41 and 42 years, who were arrested in an apartment in Permas Jaya on 27 January 2007. Police recovered ketamin and syabu pills.

Four Malaysians, aged between 24 and 30 years, were arrested at a house in Taman Johor with fake M16 machine guns and pistols.

Two Girls Gang Raped by Boyfriends

Two 15-year-old girls followed their respective boyfriends home on separate occasions last week and were gang raped.

On 23 January 2007, the first victim met up with her boyfriend in the evening after school. She followed him to his rented house where they had consensual sex. He later asked her to have sex with two of his friends, aged 15 and 17 years, to settle his debts. She lodged a police report three days later.

Police have arrested all three of them.

On 25 January 2007, the second victim met up with her boyfriend at Plaza Kota Tinggi. She claimed that she was raped three times by him in his Kampung Lukut Cina house. Following that, the boy’s two friends took turns to rape her.

Police received a report on this incident and are looking for the three boys.

New Student Ragged and Found Dead in Hostel

Form Four student, Matheus Mering August, aged 16, who enrolled into SM Teknik Bintulu, has been found dead on Saturday night. He was found in his hostel room with bruises and swelling over his body. When a teacher and some students brought him to Bintulu Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police has classified the case as murder and has detained 18 students, aged between 16 and 17, to aid investigations. Police suspect that he was bullied, ragged and assaulted by seniors during orientation.

Police will determine the cause of death when they receive the post-mortem results.
