A 37-year-old factory worker yesterday pleaded guilty to two counts of raping his daughter and was sentenced to 51 years’ jail and 40 strokes of the cane. The man allegedly raped her at A-1, Lepar Utara 4 staff quarters on 16 March 2007 between 2am and 2.30am and again on 15 December 2007. His daughter was 12 years old during the first offence.
The man’s eldest 17-year-old son also pleaded guilty in juvenile court for raping the same victim at the same place on 27 September 2008. His case has been set for mention on 6 January 2009.
The victim is the second of eight siblings.
The court judge ordered that the man’s sentences to be run consecutively from the date of arrest on 4 November 2008.

Kuantan
At 2pm yesterday, a 16-year-old Indonesian maid allegedly stabbed a 69-year-old woman to death and ran away from a house in Taman Perumahan Karang Maju. The victim, named Miati Bakri, who stays with her son and daughter-in-law was stabbed inside the house and died at the porch.
Neighbours who witnessed the incident saw the maid running out from the house and Miati motionless on the ground.
It is learnt that the maid had starting working at the house four days ago. Police have found her near the house a few hours later.

George Town
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion that he is the mastermind of the RM2 million luxury vehicle robbery at the Rahman Brother car showroom. The suspect was nabbed at a Sungai Ara apartment yesterday at 10pm.
It is believed that the suspect is the leader of a gang of 8 men who had robbed the showroom of 8 cars and set the premises on fire on Monday at 5:30am. He suffered burn marks on his leg when he was admitted to the Penang Hospital.
Car salesman, Lim Hooi Huah, was found dead in the showroom as well. Post-mortem results showed stab wounds on his neck and bruises on his head.
Police believed that the robbers had driven off with the cars on Sunday as witnesses said that the cars were seen at a car park in Paya Terubong at 8pm, but they returned at 4am the next day to burn the showroom down.
Of the 8 cars that were stolen, two BMWs and a Toyota Alphard were found at a workshop along Jalan Kampung Pisang.
Police have detained a Nepalese guard who worked at the showroom and the workshop owner.
