Three men were charged in court yesterday for raping a 15-year-old for which they have claimed trial for.
Factory workers 26-year-old G. Gunasekaran, 22-year-old S. Sugenes and night market helper 23-year-old M. Vijendran allegedly abducted the victim at the Rawang train station and confined her in a house in Kampung Serai, Kuang, Gombak. They then took turns to rape her on 30 December 2007 between 7am and 5pm.
Under the Penal Code the men face a jail term of between 15 and 30 years and a minimum of 10 strokes of the cane.
The judge denied them bail and set 12 and 13 March 2008 for trial.

Johor Baru
Tenggaroh state assemblyman Datuk S. Krishnasamy was shot dead at point blank range in a lift at the state MIC headquarters along Jalan Segget yesterday at 2:30pm.
The gunman had followed Krishnasamy who had arrived at the headquarters for a committee meeting into a lift. The MIC deputy head was shot once below the left eyebrow with the bullet leaving from the back of the head. No weapon was found at the scene.
It is believed that the killing could have been motivated by political, business, money lending or gangsterism causes. Police said that a man in his 30s and wearing a black shirt and jeans, was seen running away from the headquarters with a package and a helmet. He then escaped on a red motorcycle.
The man has been described as medium-built, 152cm tall and possibly Indian. Police believe that he may have fled towards Johor Baru.

Sungai Petani
A jewellery shop in a Giant supermarket here was hit by four armed men who robbed the shop of RM1 million worth of jewellery including diamonds on Friday at 10:30am.
At about 9:30am, six salesgirls were just opening the shop when three of the suspects entered wearing face masks. The fourth suspect stood outside the entrance. One of the suspects fired three shots in the air while the other two started breaking showcases with hammers.
Three salesgirls took cover while the other three managed to run out of the shop.
Before they took off, two suspects fired at least six shots and all of them left on two motorcycles. The motorcycles were later left near the North-South Expressway toll plaza at Taman Sejati.
Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call 04-4212222.
