Priest Slashed by Two Robbers

20 December 2007
Sungai Petani

A Taoist priest was slashed by two robbers in his Taman Bandar Baru house in Sungai Lalang on Wednesday at 3am.

The priest was watching television when one of the robbers called out to him from the outside front gate. The robbers were posing as motorcycle repossessors, saying that the priest had defaulted on three installments for his motorcycle loan. The priest and his wife had opened a window to talk to the man.

Just when the priest opened the grille gate and sliding glass door, the other robber appeared. Both robbers jumped over the front gate and smashed through the sliding door. The priest started to run to the kitchen but was slashed on the head, body and hands by the robbers’ parangs.

The priest collapsed and the robbers took off. His wife sent him to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.

Altantuya Murder Trial: Azilah and Rohaniza Made Calls in Puncak Alam and Kota Damansara

19 December 2007
Shah Alam

Mohd Firdaous Mohd Omar from Celcom’s special projects and investigations division told the High Court trial of murder victim and Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu that the “019” mobile phone number that was registered under Norazila Baharuddin from 15 April 2006 was used to answer a 20-second call on 19 October 2006 at Puncak Alam.

Norazila was accused Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri’s girlfriend and Puncak Alam was the area where Altantuya was blown up. Lance Corporal Rohaniza Roslan had previously testified in court that Azilah was using the number at that time.

30-year-old Mohd Firdaous added that at 10:43pm that night, the number had answered a call made from a “012” number that was registered under Rohaniza. At this time, the “012” number was located at Section 4, Kota Damansara.

Then, Norazila’s “019” number received an anonymous SMS at 11:16pm. The number was then used to call Rohaniza at 11:28pm, lasting for a minute. The call was made from Puncak Perdana.

From the Celcom records, it was also determined that Rohaniza called the “019” number back at 11:48pm for 104 seconds.

Azilah’s name was also recorded in the Celcom customer service system under this “019” number, suggesting that he could have made enquiries with Celcom previously.

Mohd Firdaous testified to the court that the police had made requests on 30 May, 25 September and 15 November 2007 to obtain mobile phone transaction records for Azilah and Rohaniza.
