Police were checking on a suspicious motorist in front of Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka along Jalan Wisma Putra at 5pm Monday, who was found with a penknife in his trouser pocket.
When they examined 56 pieces of RM100 notes found on him at the Dang Wangi police headquarters, they realized that they were fake. The 29-year-old man was previously involved in robbery and possessing stolen items.
Police have seized a Proton Wira and checking if it was reported to be stolen. They are now investigating if a counterfeit syndicate is involved in the fake notes.
