A reporter with the English newspaper The Star was caught beating the red light in the Petaling Jaya area early Saturday morning. She was found to be driving under influence of alcohol. She allegedly assaulted and abused a policewoman and was arrested.

She has been released on bail on Sunday and faces charges of obstructing a public servant from carrying out her duties, disorderly conduct in a police station and for insulting behaviour.

A bra thief was caught by two sisters’ father and brother last Sunday, who had been suspected of stealing bras from Chow Chai Chen, aged 22, and Chow Chai Peng, aged 15.

The sisters have been losing their underwear since moving into the Bandar Baru Air Itam flats two years ago. He has been remanded by the police for three days to aid investigations and would be sent for psychiatric evaluation.

Ismail Harun, a 64-year-old man who used to make kites for a living, has been found guilty at the Ampang Sessions Court of sodomising a five-year-old boy in Kampung Seri Lembah Keramat on 12 June 2002. He has been sentenced to 7 years’ jail but spared of caning due to his age.

The boy had been playing outside Ismail’s house when he invited him into his living room where he was sodomised. The boy’s friend saw the crime and reported it to the victim’s mother.
