Bagan Serai
A lorry crashed into a roadside stall full of people in Kampung Parit Gabis, killing a guard and an eight-year-old boy.
Rosli Hassan, aged 40, was a SJKT Sungai Gedong watchman and Mohd Hafiz Ahmad was a student of SK Teluk Medan.
Mohd Hafiz was having breakfast with his brother, Mohd Hazik and their father, Ahmad Darwani, aged 45, at about 7:50am. Three secondary school students from SM Abu Bakar and three villagers were also at the stall. All were injured at the scene and have been admitted to the Parit Buntar hospital.
Police believe that the driver lost control of the lorry, went into the opposite lane and crashed into Rosli’s motorcycle. It then crashed into the stall. The driver allegedly ran away from the scene by hitching a ride in another vehicle before making a police report.
