Bomoh Stepfather Arrested for Raping Two Daughters

A 64-year-old stepfather has been arrested after police reports were made against him, suspecting him of raping his stepdaughters, aged 17 and 12. He allegedly was curing the girls of their ailments as he was a bomoh.

The elder girl was found to be three months’ pregnant after she went for a medical examination at the Alor Star hospital last November. She made a police report on November 21 2006, admitting that she was raped by the suspect for three months.

The younger sister also claimed that she suffered the same while the suspect had gone missing after the first police report. The second report was made on November 26.

The suspect was finally arrested last Saturday in Pekan Simpang Kuala and has been remanded by the police for seven days to aid investigations.

Speed Chase Driver Shot Dead by Police

Two patrol policemen were approaching a Perodua Kenari in Taman Johor Jaya at around 1:10am last Monday. The four suspicious men made their getaway by speeding off towards the Pasir Gudang highway.

The getaway car then crashed into a motorcycle at the Taman Kota Puteri intersection, injuring two motorcyclists.

The driver tried to make a u-turn but the left tyre came off after hitting a road divder. At this point, two more policemen joined the chase and the four ran towards some bushes. One of the suspects opened fire and his shot grazed a policeman. The police returned fire and the driver was hit on the head and body. He died on the spot.

Two more were arrested at the scene while the fourth is believed to have escaped with a pistol. The men are believed to be Filipinos.

Police have classified the case as attempted murder and are searching for the fourth man.

RM1 million of Drugs Found

Narcotics officers have arrested a 36-year-old man in Datuk Keramat and seized about RM1 million worth of heroin and shabu at his apartment in Pulau Tikus. The man was on his way to deliver some drugs at about 7pm last Friday.

Police found 1.26kg of shabu or methamphetamine crystals, 1.28kg of heroin, 2,219 amphetamine-type stimulant pills, 904gm of ketamine, RM23,000 worth of foreign currencies, a safe, a weighing scale and a sealing machine.

The man has been remanded by the authories for ten days, and the case has been classified as trafficking under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the death sentence if convicted.

Police believe this man is part of a drug syndicate and are trying to catch other members.
