31-year-old Mohd Firdaous Mohd Omar from Celcom’s Special Projects and Investigation Division has admitted in high court yesterday that he had omitted data from his testimony involving calls made from accused Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri mobile phone number. He has been giving his testimony for the past six days in the murder trial of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.

He did not include data from the last three pages he had retrieved from the IT billing department dated 21 October 2006. Compared to what Mohd Firdaous testified in court, the original billing document had 10 more transactions dated between 22 to 31 October 2006.

Mohd Firdaous also said that he was unable to determine if the data he had obtained via e-mail was accurate because it came from two different systems and departments in his company. Last Thursday, he told the court that the records could not have been altered although there were discrepancies in call timestamps, duration and location found.

The phone log was from Celcom’s Customer Care Management system, while the billing document was from the IT billing department.

As such, judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin said that Mohd Firdaous would be required to return to continue his testimony.

Hearing continues today.

Police officers from the state Commercial Crime Unit have arrested two more suspects on Saturday at 8:30pm for selling sex DVDs of former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

The two men were selling the videos in Taman Setia Indah, Johor Baru. These arrests brings the total number of people caught for making or possessing copies of pornographic material related to Dr Chua to six. Both were found with six copies each of the video, which they were selling for between RM15 and RM50.

In addition to Dr Chua’s video, the men were also found with hundreds of pornographic and pirated DVDs. These suspects will be remanded until today.

Last week, two men and two women were remanded in Batu Pahat and Johor Baru. Yesterday, 26-year-old See Tooh Choy Yoke and 51-year-old Lim Poi Keong were charged with duplicating 11 copies of the DVD at a manicure and pedicure salon in Taman Bukit Perdana. As they were charged under Section 292 (c) of the Penal Code for making copies of pornographic material, they were each fined RM15,000 and four days of jail.

See Tooh works at the salon along Jalan Susur Perdana and has two children, while Lim was a farmer.

A second woman, 29-year-old Tay Bee Bee, was fined RM10,000 and jailed for five days for possessing 3 copies of the video. She also has two children and owns the salon. It is believed that Tay is also from the MCA Batu Pahat division.

However, a 48-year-old businessman pleaded not guilty to the charge of possessing the said DVD. Tan Kim Chong claimed trial to the charge of having several copies of the video at a food court along Jalan Badik 1, Taman Sri Tebrau on Friday at 6pm.

Bail was set at RM4,000 and the trial date on 23 April 2008.

It is believed that the video was selling in Penang for between RM20 and RM30. The DVD contains about 28 minutes of footage of the hotel room.

Two robbers, armed with a parang and an axe, took jewellery worth about RM100,000 from a goldsmith shop along Jalan Kapar yesterday at 4pm.

The suspects had walked into the shop and smashed showcase with more expensive jewellery. After shoving the jewellery from two trays into a bag, they escaped on a motorcycle parked outside.

Police are studying the closed-circuit television camera footage from the shop. It is believed that the suspects were wearing hand gloves and motorcycle helmets.

The duo took only 20 seconds for the entire operation.
