Kajang

Police have arrested two youths at 6pm yesterday who lived in the same area as the murdered 20-year-old university student Tang Lai Meng. The Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman undergraduate was found raped, sodomised and strangled to death in her bedroom in Cheras last week.

With the latest arrests, a total of seven people have been detained in connection to the murder case. Police are looking for more people to assist in investigations.

Batu Gajah

G. Paramesawari Bai, a 13-year-old babysitter, was found hanging from a beam in a room of her 25-year-old sister’s house in Kampung Muhibbah, Ara Payong. She was taking care of her sister, who works at a plastic factory at Taman Perdana.

The victim’s body was found by a relative at 11:20am yesterday. Her mother, S. Muniamah, aged 48, said they live in Kampung Bendera and that the girl had been babysitting for two weeks.

The body was sent to Batu Gajah Hospital for a post-mortem. Police have ruled out foul play.

Seremban

Two robbers entered a double-storey house in Taman Far Eastern and robbed the mother of the owner of the house at knifepoint. The elderly woman gave them jewellery worth about RM10,000 but the robbers wanted more.

One of the robbers then raped the 38-year-old maid. They then drove away a BMW car and a Toyota MPV. Apparently, the owner, a car accessories dealer, had slept through the entire incident.

The maid was sent to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for treatment.
