A 54-year-old chef was sentenced to 5 years’ jail for molesting a 14-year-old niece on 12 July 2004 at 4pm in Tanjung Rambutan.

The girl had been staying at his house to help take care of his son who has Down Syndrome. That day, she had just taken a bath when the man entered the room and hugged and kissed her. He then molested her on the bed and warned her not to tell anyone about the incident.

The judge had lifted the whipping sentence because of the man’s age and ordered that his jail sentence be served from the date of arrest on 30 December 2004.

Police are extending their search for missing Sharlinie Mohd Nashar beyond PJS and SEA Park. On Monday, 1,500 premises, including construction sites, kongsi houses, abandoned buildings, flats, apartments and luxury homes were combed in Kelana Jaya.

The girl who went missing from a playground near her home in Taman Medan on 9 January 2008, turns 5 years old today.

As Sharlinie is asthmatic, police have informed pharmacies, medical centres and hospitals nationwide to watch out for suspicious persons who bought inhalers recently.

28-year-old B. Nantajkumar was attacked by six masked men along Jalan 18/61 in Taman Sri Serdang yesterday at 10:15am. The car repossessor had his right arm chopped off and was slashed to death.

Nantajkumar and a colleague were travelling in a Perodua Kelisa car, when two Proton Waja cars blocked their way. The men got out of their cars and started to smash the victim’s car windows. Nantajkumar was dragged out of his car and assaulted repeatedly. His colleague managed to escape.

Nantajkumar died at the scene and police were unable to find his severed arm. His body has been sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
