Two foreigners were nabbed in SEA Park on Friday at 10:40pm, one of whom was found to be in possession of a number of dangerous weapons.
A police team was making rounds in the area when they met four people and asked them for identification papers. The four started to run away but one of them was apprehended and found to be carrying seven parangs, two small knives, two stun guns, a mask, rope and documents belonging to other individuals in his bag.
The second man was detained after he was discovered hiding in a drain.
Police believe that the items were used by the suspects for robbery in Petaling Jaya.
The two suspects are being investigated under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

In the third week of searching for missing 5-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, police have extended their house-to-house search beyond the 5km radius of Taman Medan.
Sharlinie went missing from a playground near her home in Taman Medan on 9 January 2008.
Police are searching constructions sites, kongsis, abandoned buildings, and now high-rise buildings, including flats, apartments and luxury homes. They will also be re-checking previous premises as the abductor may have moved to such buildings thinking that they would not be checked again.

An armed robber was shot dead by police in Bandar Sri Damansara yesterday midnight after a high-speed car chase. His accomplice escaped in a stolen BMW vehicle. The men are alleged to be members of the Berong Gang, which was known for robbing people who had made cash withdrawals from banks.
A police special rounds team was tailing the suspects’ car at Kota Damansara before forcing them to stop near the Bandar Sri Damansara clubhouse. When the policemen approached the car, the suspects came out. One of them started to escape on foot while the other fired two shots at the policemen. He was killed by the return fire from the policemen.
A revolver and some rounds of ammunition were found on the dead suspect, a 56-year-old Indonesian.
The dead suspect is believed to the gang’s leader while the rest of the gang is believed to have gone into hiding.
Police are now hunting for the second suspect.
