Kuala Lumpur
A 42-year-old woman from China claimed that two policemen had raped her while one of her friends apparently fell to her death at a budget hotel in Jalan Pudu.
Three women from Hunan, China, had arrived here three days earlier and stayed at the budget hotel. Two of them went out for supper on Tuesday night while the third woman was believed to have jumped from their fifth floor room at midnight.
When the two returned to the hotel room at 3am, they found policemen at the lobby. While waiting outside of the hotel for the officers to complete their investigations, one of the women was taken away in a police patrol car which stopped nearby. The other woman tried to tail the patrol car with the help of her Malaysian friend’s car, but did not managed to keep up.
The victim claimed that two policemen in the patrol car had taken her to a secluded area along Jalan Pudu where she was molested by one of them. Then, the other police officer ordered her to strip and raped her in the back seat of the car. The woman was then robbed of her mobile phone and cash before she was sent back to the hotel at 4am.
The victim lodged a police report yesterday at 2pm and was sent to the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for a medical examination. Police have confirmed that the two officers, a constable in his 20s and a lance corporal in his 40s, were arrested for further investigations.

The house of Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan in Petra Jaya was robbed by six armed men yesterday at 2:35am. The robbers wore masks and were carrying a parang, a cutter and a crowbar when they entered the compound and tied up two security guards.
Dr Chan’s driver Bong Kho Vui was also tied up in the living room. They did not enter Dr Chan’s bedroom, where he was sleeping at that time.
The robbers left in a hurry with a watch, RM20 cash, some keys and mobile phones as the security company’s supervisor happened to drop by the house about 10 minutes later.
Police believed it was the same group of robbers who struck the home of Samariang assemblyman Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali last Friday.
