Three Indonesian prostitutes and seven foreign clients were found at a house in Pekan Nenas when a team of police raided the residence on Sunday at 8:30pm.
Police believe a syndicate was behind the operations, which had just started a few weeks ago and was serving foreign factory workers. The women were from Medan, Tanjung Balai and Batam, and have entered the country with valid passports and social visit passes.
They arrested the prostitutes, in their 20s, and their clients, six Nepalese and Bangladeshi factory workers aged between 20 and 30.
The women, including six Nepalese and Bangladeshi factory workers, have been remanded until 20 March 2008 and the case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code for involvement in prostitution.

Petaling Jaya
A syndicate that was manufacturing and distributing illegal DVDs and VCDs in Puchong Utama was crippled during a police raid on Saturday at 3pm. 28 CPU towers, discs worth RM500,000 and 300 disc burners worth RM45,000 were seized.
The raid was conducted in three houses in Taman Puchong Jaya, Taman Puchong Hartamas and Bandar Puteri Puchong. Two men aged 23 and 26 years were arrested.
Police believe that the syndicate, which has been operating over a year, was using the house in Taman Puchong Jaya as the packing centre, while the Taman Puchong Hartamas house was used for distribution. Runners would collect their stock from this house.

Six men and a police lance corporal was arrested for trafficking 7kg of ganja after police stumbled on a drug trafficking syndicate while catching robbers on Thursday at 5pm.
The suspects, including a teenage son of another policeman and two women, were nabbed in a rented flat. Methamphetamine crystals, heroin and Erimin 5 pills were also found at the premises. The ganja was meant to be distributed to the island.
The suspects have been remanded for 10 days and the case has been classified as trafficking under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
