Two Sisters Raped for Six Years

Two sisters have been allegedly raped by their neighbour in a farming village for the past six years. The 15-year-old sister is now 6 months pregnant and the 12-year-old is a Year Six student who is due to sit for her Peperiksaan Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah this year.

A man in his 40s is believed to have been raping them since 2002 and threatened them not to reveal to anyone in their village in the Kota Marudu district.

The sisters’ mother has lodged a police report on Friday. Medical examinations have confirmed that the girls have been repeatedly raped and the elder sister is pregnant. The neighbour has been arrested by the police.

Asmawi Missing: 19-year-old Charged for Extortion

Kuala Lumpur

19-year-old petrol pump attendant Murdi Diggong, from Kota Belud, Sahab, was charged for extortion when he allegedly sent a threatening short message to the family of missing 11-year-old Muhammad Asmawi Jalaludin. Yesterday, he pleaded guilty in court.

On 12 March 2008 at 1:50pm, he is believed to have sent to the boy’s 32-year-old sister Saudah Jalaludin the following message: “Asmawi ada di sini… tapi dengan satu syarat… Bagi duit 5 ribu.” (Asmawi is here… but on one condition… give me five thousand in cash.)

The judge set bail at RM1,000 and fixed 3 June 2008 for sentencing.

Armed Robbers Snatched RM120,000

A moneychanger employee lost RM120,000 to two armed robbers when he was withdrawing the money from a bank at 9:30am yesterday. The incident took place along Jalan Wong Ah Fook where he was returning to Jalan Segget.

When the two male robbers approached the 38-year-old employee and snatched the money, the employee fought back. The robbers slashed him with a parang and he sustained minor injuries on his right hand.

The victim was treated at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital. Police said this is the third incident along Jalan Segget recently.
